The Surrey Patrol Executive has identified major issues pertaining to the quality of service being rendered by the patrol. This can be directly attributed to the financial predicament the patrol finds itself in. The sustainability of the patrol has become questionable as finances have put major strains on staffing, equipment and administrations.
Patrolling of Portavue and Primrose Park has been terminated in order to reduce costs and provide a better and faster service to the residents of the Surrey and Vanguard areas.
Our area of operation stretches from Jakes Gerwel Drive (Vanguard Drive) along College Road to Danube Road and Klipfontein Road, including Amazon and Baakens Roads. We are presently also patrolling Vanguard Estate.
Street co-ordinators are currently being appointed to meet with residents and ascertain who is not signed up and then encourage those non-paying households to start contributing.
Part of our new initiatives include more visible voluntary patrols in marked cars and signboards placed at strategic access points.
New display boards will be issued to every house that is signed up so that our patrol personnel can clearly see who are paying.
We encourage you to welcome our street co-ordinators into your house and to give them a fair hearing and positive response.
